On 13 March 2024, His Excellency Siwowo Pramono paid a courtesy visit to the Hon. Simeon Seoule, Speaker of Vanuatu Parliament.

During their discussions, H.E. Pramono mentioned that the Parliament of Vanuatu had signed a Memorandum of Understanding with his Parliament in 2015.

The MOU was signed in 2015 under the leadership of Hon. Phillip BOEDORO at that time.

The MOU captured 3 areas of cooperation.

  1. Exchange of experiences and information on democracy, socio-cultural affairs, economic development, technology, and pluralism.
  2. Bilateral meetings in multilateral for and in supporting the national interests of the parties.
  3. Capacity building

Hon. Simeon Simeon thanked H.E. Pramono for highlighting the existing memorandum of understanding between the parliaments of the two nations. He assured the Ambassador that the Vanuatu Parliament would review the MoU before taking any further action.

Mr. Simeon expressed his deep gratitude to the Indonesian government for its constant support and valuable contribution to Vanuatu's development in recent years. 

They also discussed the further development of bilateral cooperation and friendship between Vanuatu and Indonesia.
