Port-Vila, province de Shefa, 4 mars - Le Président du Parlement de Vanuatu, député de la circonscription rurale d’Efate, Son Excellence Stephen Dorrick FELIX MA’AU MALFES, s’est engagé à redonner toute son intégrité au Bureau du Président du Parlement après son entrée en fonction le 11 février suivant son élection.
Il s’agit d’une demande pressante de voir l’intégrité restaurée ainsi que l’éthique du travail à la Chambre et au Secrétariat, et il est déterminé à le faire.
Il aurait dit ... « Il n’y a qu’un seul poste de ce type à Vanuatu, pas beaucoup... juste un » « ...
Il y a du temps pour tout, le travail, le plaisir... » et a donné beaucoup plus d’encouragements lors de sa rencontre officielle avec le personnel du Secrétariat.
Dans son allocution aux membres du personnel, il a appelé à un esprit de travail d’équipe coopératif et collaboratif de la part de chacun et de tous les départements, afin de s’assurer que la mise en œuvre complète des plans de travail qu’il a à l’esprit en tant que chef de l’institution, et les projets en suspens des plans stratégiques actuels adoptés au profit de la prestation de services du Secrétariat parlementaire au gouvernement et à la population dans son ensemble.
En conclusion de ses remarques dans la zone des défenses du cochon, il a promis de pourvoir tous les postes vacants restants au Secrétariat et il y travaille en étroite collaboration avec le Secrétariat pour s’assurer que toute la tâche est accomplie.
Son Excellence le Président FELIX était lui-même un ancien membre du personnel lorsqu’il a occupé le poste de directeur des services juridiques du Parlement de Vanuatu. Il est avocat et juge à la Cour suprême de métier avant de s’engager en politique.
Un moment passionnant de son discours est survenu lorsqu’il a mentionné les serments et a déclaré que les serments du député qu’il a prêté le 11 février sont ses 6e et se réfèrent aux serments comme des promesses sacrées qui obligent le prêteur de serment à être un modèle dans son rôle de leadership et, en toutes circonstances, à respecter la fonction publique à laquelle il a été élu, nommé ou attribué.

Port-Vila, Shefa Province, March 4 - The Speaker of Parliament of Vanuatu, Member of Parliament for Efate Rural Constituency, His Excellency Stephen Dorrick FELIX MAU’AU MALFES has pledged to give back full integrity to the Office of the Speaker of Parliament after he took office on February 11th following his election
This comes as an urge to see integrity being restored along with work ethics in the House and the Secretariat, and he is determined to do so.
He is quoted as saying ... “There is only one such position in Vanuatu, not many...just one” “...There is a time for everything, work, fun...” and gave many more encouragement during his official encounter meeting with the Secretariat’s staff personnel.
In his address to the staff members, he calls for cooperative and collaborative team work spirit from each and everyone and all departments alike, in ensuring to see the full roll out of workplans, he as the head of the institution has in mind, and the pending projects of the current strategic plans adopted for the benefit of the service delivery of the Parliamentary Secretariat to the Government and the people as a whole.
In closing to his remarks at the pig’s tusk area, he vowed to fill all the remaining vacant positions at the Secretariat and he is working on that closely with the Secretariat in ensuring that all the task is carried out.
His Excellency Speaker FELIX was himself a former member of the staff personnel when he served as the Manager Legal Services for the Vanuatu Parliament.
He is a lawyer and a Supreme Court Judge by trade prior to engaging into politics.
A thrilling moment of his speech came when he made mention of the oaths and stating that the Member of Parliament’s Oaths, he took on February 11th is his 6th and refers to oaths as sacred promises that binds the Oath taker to be a role model in his/her leadership role and in any circumstances, respect the public office to which he/she has been elected, appointed or assigned to.
